Hello,

I’m Laurel

About Me

I am a Professional Tarot Reader and Glycerin Allergy Blogger. These two things dominate my life. Well, them and my 3 cats. I am Autistic, Pansexual, and Genderfluid. My pronouns are She/They/Them. I am the proud Cat Parent to Tavi, Parker, and Carrot. I went to New College of Florida, and ended up getting my Bachelors in Humanities. I worked in Optical shops for 13 years. I loved helping people pick out the best pair of eyeglasses for them. My blog covers various tips, tricks, and products I use to safely live glycerin-free.  I'm sure there will be plenty of cat pictures as well.

My Love of Tarot

I have been fascinated by Tarot cards since I first encountered them as a small child in a local bookstore I shop at to this day. I finally picked up my first deck in college. For a long time I would just do the occasional reading for myself.

In 2018 I became much more serious in my study of the cards, both their meanings and how they can be used to better understand myself and what I want out of life. I stopped denying to myself how much I loved working with Tarot. I started incorporating Tarot into my daily life.

Through Tarot I have been able to help myself heal from my father’s suicide, gain a better understanding of my gender and my sexuality, and find how to be the best version of myself that I can be at this moment in time.

Getting Into Reading Professionally

Then, one day in 2020, I realized I wanted to help others find their own personal empowerment through Tarot.

So I dove even deeper into studying Tarot from books and online resources. I also took classes from Lindsay Mack, Brigit Esselmont, and Charlie Claire Burgess.

Since April of 2020 I have been working towards getting Biddy Tarot Reader Certification. It has been a long, hard journey, but so very worth it for all the additional skills and knowledge I have gained from it.

Because Tarot is a special interest of mine and I want to be the best possible Tarot Reader I can be for you, I will always be furthering my Tarot studies and taking more classes.

My Glycerin Allergy

I have been allergic to glycerin since I was born. My mom had noticed I broke out in a rash when she used a glycerin based soap to bathe me.

For a long time, glycerin soaps where the only thing I avoided. It was not until 2016 that I finally got serious about cutting all glycerin and glycerin-derived ingredients out of my life. And that made a huge difference in the quality of my life.

Because there was a lack of resources about living with a glycerin allergy, I started my blog. I also have created a list of alternative names for glycerin and ingredients derived from glycerin. It was such a handy resource when I went shopping, I knew others would benefit from access to it as well.
