Hello!

Welcome to my blog about living glycerin free and being an awesome stay-at-home cat mom.

What yoga DVDs do I own?

What yoga DVDs do I own?

I’m trying to get back into yoga. There’s a meditation/yoga retreat I’m going to this weekend and I don’t want to effectively be a complete beginner. So I broke out the Beginner’s Experience DVD that came with my yoga mat.

That DVD is NOT for beginners. Just no. There is no explanation of poses. No modifications you can do if you aren’t a complete yoga master. It moves too quickly between poses. It also assumes you’re super flexible.

So I dug through my DVD binder this afternoon. I knew I had to already own something that is truly aimed at beginners and non-flexible people.

And it looks like I have three possibilities: Yoga for the Rest of Us with Peggy Cappy; Yoga for Emotional Health by Ananda Yoga; and AM/PM Yoga for Beginners. It’s been so long since I’ve watched them, I have no memory of what any of them are like.

I’m thinking I’ll start with “Yoga for the Rest of Us” because I vaguely remember it being aimed at people who aren’t super flexible. I used to be super flexible in my youth, but that is no longer the case.

How many times do you think the girls will interrupt me while I’m following along with the DVD?

How was the retreat?
