Hello!

Welcome to my blog about living glycerin free and being an awesome stay-at-home cat mom.

The weather has been gorgeous this week, so I’ve been swimming a lot more. It’s incredibly relaxing to just tread water in the deep end of the pool for about an hour. For me it’s like a mindfulness meditation.

I don’t lay out in the sun. I purely go to the pool to swim in the water. I’m quite fond of my pale skin and would like to keep it that way. I use a variety of different sunscreen products to protect my skin from sun damage.

I primarily use Sun Bum brand sunscreen. While a number of their products do contain glycerin under some of it’s alternative names, the Premium Moisturizing Sunscreen Spray does not. I buy either the Broad Spectrum SPF 50 or SPF 70. I like that it’s vegan and cruelty free. Being a spray makes it much easier to apply sunscreen to my back by myself.

Another sunscreen spray that I like is the Neutrogena Beach Defense Sunscreen Spray Broad Spectrum SPF 70. I only buy it when I can’t find the Sun Bum. This one is easier to find and tends to be slightly cheaper, but I prefer to spend my money on vegan and cruelty free makeup and skincare.

When I’m not outside in the sun for extended periods of time, I use Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk SPF50+/PA+++ under my makeup. It seems to work well without interfering with the performance of my makeup. I have oily/combination skin and it lasts as long as I’m not sweating heavily.

For the days when I’m not wearing makeup, but want to touch up shiny skin and add a little SPF protection, I use TARTE Tarteguard Mineral Powder Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30. The only downside that I’ve noticed so far is that it can be super powdery at times, so be mindful of that when loading product into the brush. I can usually just brush or blow off the excess.

My last sunscreen product is one I use both at the pool and running errands, SEPHORA COLLECTION Rouge Balm SPF 20. It’s a tinted lip balm that currently comes in three colors. I find it moisturizing while providing a nice pop of color.
