A few weeks ago I ran out of black mascara. I’d even used up the mini sizes I had in my travel bag. So I searched high and low for a mascara formula that does not contain any form of glycerin.

Eventually I found the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara. It does everything I want, and it has the brush style I prefer. You have no idea how wonderful it was to put on mascara and not have my eyes itch at any point during the day.

I did test it for a couple days with no other eye makeup. I wanted to make sure I was giving it a fair chance to see if it caused any irritation. Then I tested it for a week with my Viseart Petite Pro 1 palette because I know those eyeshadows are completely glycerin free.

I had never before worn eye makeup without it bothering me at least a little bit at some point during the day. With the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara and the Viseart palette, it felt like I had nothing on my eyes.

Once I use up the Tarte mascara, I am going to try to find a drugstore mascara that’s glycerin free. Surely there must be at least one out there? I’ll keep you updated on my hunt for more affordable mascaras.
