Hello!

Welcome to my blog about living glycerin free and being an awesome stay-at-home cat mom.

What are my Must Have items?

There are a few items that I must always have with me. They get transferred from purse to backpack to the occasional fanny pack, depending on whatever activity I’m doing.  But those items have to be easily accessible wherever I am.

Tube of Benadryl cream
A minimum of 6 Benadryl pills
Hand sanitizer

Are you surprised? There are other items that I like to have with me, but these three are non-negotiable.  Thankfully it’s the hand sanitizer that gets the most use out of those three by a long shot.

Before I added hand sanitizer to the Must Have With Me list, I was using the Benadryl cream pretty regularly. Then I realized my life would be much easier and comfortable if I stopped using the soaps provided in restrooms. I really hated having itchy hands.

Rather than haul around a bottle of hand soap, I managed to track down a hand sanitizer that didn’t contain glycerin.  The one I use is Babyganics Alcohol-Free Foaming Hand Sanitizer. I’ll stand next to the restroom sink when I use it so people can see I am doing something to prevent the spread of germs.

The Benadryl cream now usually only gets used if my skin starts itching for some unknown reason. It doesn’t take up much room and comes in handy when I get a bug bite or some such thing, so  I keep it in my kit.

The Benadryl pills are for if I accidentally ingest glycerin or one of the other things I’m allergic to.  Unfortunately glycerin is not my only allergy. So I must always be prepared.
